How it works

Our endorsement process

We endorse candidates who show a genuine commitment to the rights and wellbeing of Native communities across Colorado, especially those in urban and off-reservation areas. For us, this is about building relationships and allies, people who already understand urban Native issues or are willing to learn and champion them. Every candidate in a race is welcome to take part, and we consider everyone who requests our endorsement.

1

A candidate requests our endorsement

Any candidate can ask for our endorsement using the form below.

2

We invite everyone in the race

When one candidate requests our endorsement, we reach out to every candidate in that race and invite them to complete our questionnaire.

3

Candidates respond

Candidates have two weeks to return the questionnaire. That window may be shorter when an election is close.

4

Our members vote

We send every completed questionnaire to our membership. Members vote to endorse one or more candidates, or to make no endorsement in the race.

5

We announce the endorsement

Once the vote is final, we notify all the candidates. We post the endorsement the next day on this site and on Instagram.
